Dr. Tim O'Lenic

Tim began his culinary experience at the early age of 14. Since then he has traveled the world extensively in search of purity in cooking technique and mastery of flavor. His cooking is

described as fresh, eclectic and straight forward.

At age 14, Tim would catch a bus into downtown Pittsburgh to work as a porter for an exclusive private club with his friend Steve. Together they quickly won the heart of the staff and, more importantly, the Executive Chef of the restaurant. He was taken into an informal apprenticeship and over a two year period of time learned how to successfully navigate his way around the kitchen.

At 16, Tim was hired as head broiler man and line chef at a steak and seafood restaurant. He worked there until his graduation from high school. In

college Tim cooked at various restaurants including a bakery, a delicatessen and a catering business. Just prior to medical school, Tim worked for a large hotel chain. He trained under and cooked with executive chefs from all parts of the world.

His medical training took him out of the professional kitchens but did not diminish his passion for fine food. Currently, he is a board certified anesthesiologist and critical care physician. He revels in the chance to wow his colleagues, friends and family showing off his unique approach to food and entertaining.

Cooking has always been a family affair for Tim. Here with his daughter, Leyla, they are constructing a simple fresh vegetable soup from scratch. Leyla, a budding actress, writer, swimmer, pianist and possibly chef (if her father or grandfather have any say), enjoys being in the kitchen with her Dad. Her favorite recipes are French Onion Soup, Pecan Crusted Chicken with honey butter, and traditional Swiss fondue. Oh, and anything chocolate!

Yvette Harrold

Yvette Harrold

Yvette is the epitome of a world traveler. From her humble beginnings in the Heartland of this country, she took a great leap traveling to and schooling in South Africa during her college years. During her time across the pond she had the opportunity to travel to many of the neighboring countries as well as Europe (France, Italy, Belgium, Switzerland, The Netherlands and England) sampling their food and soaking in their culture. It did not take long for her open heart to revel in this once in a life time experience and to capitalize on its advantages. During her tenure she teamed up with friends in the food business working as a hostess, server, and consultant in an Israeli and Italian restaurant.

Yvette has a Masters degree in education. For the last 15 years she has worked as an executive in education consulting and has a successful career as a Performance Improvement Director for a large team scattered across the country. Her business allows her to experience regional food all over the United States on a regular basis- one of her favorites is the Southwestern cuisine of Arizona. Her personal and professional input as a business partner breathes fresh air into Tim’s busy life.

Steve Malingowski

Steve is the son of a successful chef. He grew up in a home where, obviously, no one would go hungry, but the expectations where greater than that. With this up bringing, Steve approaches every meal as a chance to experience the best of the best, specializing in haute and nouveau cuisine. He was cooking dinner parties and impressing the “girls” before hosting dinner parties was cool (yes I was there).

Steve has a professional degree from the Pennsylvania School of Culinary Arts. He has developed menus and worked and trained in more restaurants than he would care to mention. He is currently an executive for one of the largest food service distribution companies in the world.

Tony Diaz

Tony is considered by many to be the next mayor of Tampa Florida. He and his family have lived just outside the city since his birth. Tony is a board certified Anesthesiologist and home cook extraordinaire. Being a potential candidate for Mayor, or other public office, Tony has had the pleasure of meeting restaurant owners, investors, and other simple people, like us, during his quest for the perfect meal.

Tony lives on the waters of Tampa bay. He is an active fisherman and proud owner of multiple crab cages. I do believe I have heard him giggle over the fact that I pay high dollar for stone crab claws to be shipped to me while he pulls off more than he and an army can eat for free.

Despite his subdued impression, Tony takes his dining experience quite intensely, ever cognizant of flavor and presentation of his meal. His home meals, as many can contest, are beyond sublime, specializing in Latin and Caribbean cuisine. We, at On The Doctor’s Table, think that Tony’s true talent lies in the kitchen.
